CANCER INFORMATION SERVICES:
Personal Health Manager
In cooperation with the American Cancer Society, a Personal Health Manager folder is available for anyone newly diagnosed with cancer. This packet includes information on the James E. Cary Cancer Center, types of cancer treatments, nutritional tips and programs of the American Cancer Society. For a free Personal Health Manager, please contact the social worker at 573-406-5812.
Cancer Resource Center
The James E. Cary Cancer Center has a large library of cancer related materials. Materials are either provided at no charge or available as a lending item. Additionally, an internet is available for use by the public.
Public Education
The James E. Cary Cancer Center is active in promoting public education about cancer, cancer prevention and treatment. Some of the educational programs provided on a regular basis include:
- HPV presentations to public schools
- Bone Marrow Drives
- Testicular Awareness Campaign
- Oral Cancer Screenings
- Skin Cancer Screenings
- Prostate Cancer Screenings
- Colon Cancer Screenings with the Colon Cancer Crusade
